Porcelain Veneers and Dental Crowns
We think you deserve a smile that is both healthy and beautiful. Many of us would like to change something about the appearance of our teeth. Imperfections like staining, chips, or broken teeth all detract from your smile and can make you feel self conscious.
At Collins and Sampson DDS, we have options that can help resolve these problems and many more. Our goal is to provide you with treatments that not only protect your oral health, but also improve the appearance of your smile.
Porcelain Veneers for a Flawless Smile
Porcelain veneers are a perfect solution for correcting a variety of cosmetic dental flaws. They are also convenient because we can complete the process in just two or three visits to our Pembroke dental offices.
Porcelain veneers can be placed on one or several teeth and are used to correct a number of cosmetic dental problems, including:
- Unevenly spaced teeth
- Chipped or cracked teeth
- Broken teeth
- Stained teeth that don’t respond to whitening
Veneers are essentially shells of porcelain that are bonded to the surface of your teeth. We start by removing a very thin layer of your dental enamel so the veneer fits properly and adheres securely to your tooth. Next, we take impressions that are sent to our dental lab where your veneers are custom-made to our exact specifications.
When you return to our office, we check the veneers for proper fit, then bond them to your teeth. Veneers look completely natural, and no one will ever know you’ve had any work done!
A dental crown is designed to cover your tooth completely and is a widely used restoration. Crowns are primarily used to hold a dental bridge in place or to reinforce a tooth that has been damaged or weakened by decay or periodontal infection. But we can also use them to address a number of cosmetic imperfections, such as:
- Reshaping an uneven tooth so that it looks more natural
- Concealing severely stained teeth
- Covering a large amalgam filling that shows when you smile
Our dentists have years of experiencing in creating dental crowns, and improvements in dental materials allow us to customize a crown to perfectly match surrounding teeth. Dental crowns protect your natural tooth structure, which is also important for maintaining good oral health and ensuring that your teeth last for many years.
We Work With Your Goals
Our first priority is to help you attain excellent oral health. Both veneers and crowns are effective because they can be used to protect damaged teeth while improving your appearance.
We will listen to your concerns and questions and help you make a decision about which treatment option is best for helping you achieve your goal of a healthy, attractive smile. Please contact our Pembroke dental offices for more information and to arrange a convenient appointment.
